Microsoft has sent an invitation to some of the Windows Logo Kit testers to test WLK 1.4.7048 Build Snap.The mail sent by the Microsoft clearly states that Windows 7 Build 7048 has been compiled.In the message sent it has been written that testers are recommended to use Windows 7 Build 7048 for maximum stability.

After previous rumours about the Windows 7 build 7048,which was subsequently declared that it wasn’t actually  by Sinofsky himself. This time Mydigitallife has posted screenshots of Windows 7 build 7048.Windows 7 build 7048 full tag version is 7048.0.x86fre.winmain.090219-1845 which clearly states that the build was created on 19th Feb 2009.However it’s still unclear whether the build belongs to the RC escrow category or the build to be provided to public in April.

After all the rumors and buzz about the Windows 7 build 7048,then being declared that it actually doesn’t exist, the Microsoft’s Steven Sinofsky with an email conversation with geeksmack confirmed that the latest build on which they are working is Windows 7 build 7046.Here is what he wrote

Geeksmack is now reporting that Windows 7 build 7048  that was compiled on February 11doesn’t exist and was actually 7041.The site further adds that the build was 7041.The site reports that they don’t know the exact build number.The site is reporting the build as 7041.winmain.090211-xxxx.
Ars Technica further adds that they have confirmed from the Microsoft employee that the build 7048 doesn’t exist and even Microsoft hasn’t start working on the RC build.The site adds that the latest build was 7046 which was actually compiled yesterday.

Microsoft is apparently working on the Release Candidate version of Windows 7.
Geeksmack reports through the unnamed sources that the Windows 7 RC build has already been compiled by Microsoft. The Build number is 7048 and the complete build string is 7048.winmain_win7rc1.090211-1625 which clearly states that the build is RC 1 and was compiled on 9th Feb 2009 .
